Our Studio

Modern heirlooms.
Designed and crafted in New York.

Odette New York is a collection of sculptural jewelry by designer and founder Jennifer Sarkilahti. Each design is carefully carved by hand in wax before being cast into sustainable metals. Dedicated to experimentation within the craft, Sarkilahti creates new limited editions each season in addition to a permanent collection of signature styles.

Raised in Virginia, Sarkilahti studied painting, receiving her Master of Fine Arts from George Mason University before moving to New York City to pursue the arts. As an extension of her art practice, she began working in lost wax, blurring line between art and craft in creating the body of work that would eventually become Odette.

In 2019, after 15 years of living and working in Brooklyn, Sarkilahti moved to the lower Hudson Valley, where she currently designs out of her studio in a converted barn from the 1800s.

Since its inception, the brand has been worn by influential women including Michelle Obama, Issa Rae, Taylor Swift, Tracee Ellis Ross, Gigi Hadid, Carrie Coon, Ana de Armas, Kaley Cuoco, and Gabrielle Union and featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Architectural Digest, L’Officiel, Elle, Porter, InStyle and Marie Claire.

Our Values

Sustainability.

In an effort to maintain a small environmental footprint, we work with artisans and family-run businesses local to NYC for our casting and manufacturing. Our jewelry is made by hand in small batches from recycled materials like high polish Brass, Sterling Silver, and 14K Gold.

Our Sterling Silver and 14K gold is made from 100% SCS Global certified recycled metals while our Brass is made from a high percentage of recycled materials. This method of recycling material is a way to practice a more sustainable model for casting metals.

Giving Back.

We believe in diversity and inclusion as well as giving back to the community by regularly donating a portion of our sales for social impact. A few of the organizations we’ve supported: Girl’s Inc, ACLU, Loveland Foundation, Crafting the Future, and Food Bank of NYC.
