Resort 15, coming soon.
Lisa Przystup is our lovely model and muse for the SS14 lookbook. A former fashion writer turned florist, Lisa spends her days and often nights arranging bouquets for James's Daughter Flowers. I first met Lisa last year when I photographed her for my friend Helen's lookbook. We quickly realized we both hail from the same hometown in Virginia.
What can you tell us about yourself in two sentences or less?
Hopeless romantic with a penchant for all things heartbreaking and bittersweet, obsessive perfectionist, lover of sweetgrass, compulsive list maker, and staghorn fern killer. Also, as my boyfriend can attest to: rigorous nose blower. I’m a honker.
Who are your personal style icon/s?
Oh, the usuals I suppose: love Jane Birkin and Kate Moss. Also Dree Hemmingway. Oh! Lauren Hutton and Joan Didion are such classy foxy ladies. Anyone who doesn’t comb their hair.
What’s in your jewelry box?
Odette, of course. Giles and Brother. Gold line stud from Garnish – it’s been a staple (pardon the pun) for years now – my best friend gave it to me ages ago and I literally never take it out. Grace Lee dot earrings. Obnoxiously large southwest turquoise rings scrounged off ebay. Pieces from my mother. I’m a minimalist when it comes to jewelry – I think I like the idea of it more than actually wearing it. I’m also trying to be more of an adult and buy nicer pieces – 2014 is going to be the year of fine jewelry – I have my eye on a Miansai cuff for my birthday as well as couple pieces from WWAKE and a couple of your lovely rings too.
Tell us about your work and what inspires you.
I am so inspired by the idea of wildness – arrangements that are spilling and crawling and winding all over the place. I love getting out of the city – smelling the green in the summer – its sheer headiness, the chorus of crickets and the wide swath of stars - all those things inspire me to no end.
